New Photo Portfolio Ready For The Things To Come
Tobias' photography portfolio returns with a new look, improved compatibility and an updated selection of photos.
As the last redesign of my photography portfolio approached it's anniversary,
it was about time to get moving and create something new, and better. The site
was scripted to death and showed problems displaying in most browsers - in fact,
it was only optimized for Firefox, but even there the navigation would sometimes
get the hiccups. It was pretty embarrassing on a couple of occasions when I
was showing my portfolio to people. So instead of moving things around and
probably causing even more problems, I decided to restart from scratch.
The new site is
different, but core elements are still the same. The navigation in the galleries
still works in the same way as before. In contrast to the old site, which lacked
a frame (which was a conscious design decision at the time), the new one rests
in a static frame with a fixed size, giving the site a more compact appearance.
In terms of new pictures, not much is happening currently due to the ongoing
bad weather. Hamburg's winters are dreadful. It feels like we haven't seen the
sun in months. Life is hidden under a thick layer of gray clouds. And when the
sun comes out, it's usually just for a short time, and even then it's still
too cold to enjoy staying outside shooting photos. But with spring approaching
finally, I hope the weather will clear up soon. I can't wait to get back to
photography.
Because of the absence of new stuff, the portfolio currently shows mostly a
selection of well-known older works, but make sure to check out the two new
portrait galleries from my shootings in February.
And since some of you probably don't come here via the portal at kotogoto, make
sure to check out the new splash screen advertising the
portfolio relaunch.
