Kotogoto Back in Town

Welcome back! Kotogoto returns, hosted on a different server, with a fresh layout and...mostly the same content for now. In fact, I stripped down the site a bit. But on the other hand, this new release brings...communication! There are a couple of new ways to get in contact with me and interact with the site. First of all and most important, there's a comment feature for the news, so you can quickly leave your thoughts and rants about each post I make. Pretty much similar to a blog software actually, but let me say - and not without a tiny bit of proud - that I created this all by myself. Same with the other PHP and MySQL-driven features.

But back to the communication. There's also a contact form available in case you want to send me a mail. There's no guestbook though, I think this site doesn't need one. And they tend to invite spammers anyway. The one at my photosite used to get a couple of spam comments every day (but since they were all made up by a small amount of random messages, I managed to add a filter to the script that will sort out these mails - yay to me). I am thinking about further ways to add interaction to Kotogoto, but these ideas are still in the making and require acquiring some additional PHP skills.

Of course, the white space to the right of this text column will include photos as before, but there are no photos in this post because...well, there are no photos to post. Another new feature from an old idea is the “comment of the day” feature. Whenever I stumble across something interesting or funny, you will see it below the post. But of course, right now I can't think of any so you will see none.

In other news, I started my new job today, at my old company, freenet, where I had worked from Sep '05 until Mar '06. In fact, they called me yesterday and offered me a job and I started working today. Actually though I am now working for mobilcom, but still at the same place than before. I will even get back my old desk and Mac and PC. The job is limited until the end of December for now, but it's sure good to be doing something again, especially because I am working on different stuff than before. I will be responsible for most of the graphics and layouts appearing on the mobilcom website.
